Back to School Supply Drive

At the end of July, the excitement for back to school started to really build. I know it may seem early, but I LOVE shopping for school supplies and preparing to have a great year. In fact, I even check my mailbox every day for the letter that gets sent by my new teacher each year with our school supply list!

This year, I was hit with unexpected emotion as I realized some kids don’t have the means to go out and buy school supplies. This really upset me, so I asked my parents if I could do something to help. Together, we came up with the idea to start a school supply drive for the students in my school district. I contacted my principal to ask if she would help, and she was thrilled to do so. I worked to print out flyers and contacted local businesses to ask if they would e a drop off location for people to donate supplies to the drive. I was so excited when each business was more than willing to help! I want to give a special shout out to Nazareth Army & Navy store who not only graciously allowed us to have a collection bin at their store, but who also gave us a generous donation to buy additional school supplies for the drive.

I was overwhelmed with excitement and pride when the donations started rolling in. We collected HUNDREDS of school supplies for the start of the 2022-2023 school year! I know that these supplies will make it possible for so many students in our district to start the school year off on the right foot and empower them to have the best school year yet!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to each and every person who donated school supplies this year. I cannot wait to see how much the drive grows next year!
